Well, it has been a week since school began and I am without a teaching position. Sadly, I have not decided yet whether to pursue substitute opportunities. I realize I should, but I feel a bit discouraged. I guess I was under the impression that teachers were needed.
I contacted a fellow student I went to school with and he has experienced almost the same thing as I this year, multiple applications and no job to show for it. He feels quite dejected by the whole thing, but I keep consoling myself with the belief there is a bevy of teachers here in the Seattle area because it is a beautiful place to live.
I am occupying myself doing computer consulting and contemplating being a substitute. I would love to get feedback from anyone who has either thought about being a sub, or chose to be one. Let me know what you thought of it please.
