I chose the Rcampus website as an example of a Learning Management System that I could use at my school to promote change on my Campus. In my study group I would suggest that the design team read Marva Collins' book, "The Marva Collins' Way". Even though her book was written almost twenty years ago, she faced a lot of the same problems we face in the school that I am currently teaching in, low test scores, unmotivated students, and a high drop out rate. I would suggest that we read the book three chapters at a time, and answer study questions that I would develop. We would use the ideas implemented by Mrs. Collins and apply them to our students at our school. My study group can be found on the Rcampus website here:

There may be some educators at my school who will not think this is necessary. How can a book written so long ago apply to us today? My rebuttal to that would be how could it not help us. It is a well known fact that Mrs. Collins produced successful students out of children that society had long given up on. These students from their low socio economic backgrounds are very similar to the Title I students we serve at our school. What worked for her, could and should very well work for us.
