The International Job Hunting Scene

I'm interested in hearing about how people land jobs at good international schools.  I can't just go volunteer because of financial responsibilities.  But, I do have teaching experience and I am part of a teaching couple.  I would like to teach in Asia.....

Recruiters

I've recently researched a number of recruiters for international schools.  From what I've read on other website forums, sending resumes to schools isn't very effective.  Myself, I've only gotten one interview from sending out resumes with all the other stuff they ask for...cover letters, transcripts, philosophies of education, etc., which is a LOT of work!

I looked into both SEARCH Associates and International School Services (ISS) and despite the extra cost --like $200 more-- I decided to register with ISS.  For one, ISS has a top notch website and more A-list schools attending their fairs.  I plan to attend one conference in February and hope the experience will be fruitful, AKA lead to a contract at an A or B list school in a country I want to live in.
