I'm trying not to get too excited because it seems rather surreal. We are well into the school year and this job seems like a great fit for me. I really don't think I could have asked for a better job description. I'm sure there will be challenges, but I will great them as the small pleasures I get to engage in that add challenge and reward to the privilege of being able to help guide the learning of young people.
The school is near where my partner works and we'll be able to carpool and conserve resources, which has us excited. The school is less than 7 miles from our house which means low commute times as well. The Staff at the school seem very supportive, friendly, and professional. I look forward to collaborating with them in the pursuit of better student learning. The description of my position is going to allow me the opportunity to share my love of technology and education with the staff and students. As I understand it, I'll be working to integrate technology with curriculum and teach mathematics. As usual, I have been investigating technology in education and I am excited to learn more as I actively engage in the implementation of some of the many great ideas I have been reading about.
Having not signed any contract, I feel as if I shouldn't get too excited, but I am thrilled. I was sent an e-mail by HR offering me the job and I accepted. I am told I will be starting on Monday the 29th of September. I'll keep you all posted, thanks for reading and sharing this exciting news with me.
