Getting a job at an International School

After a year of sending emails to the top schools in Asia with our resumes and rarely getting even an auto-reply, we decided to pony up and join a recruiter.  After plane tickets, seemingly endless paperwork and hotel reservations, we got to a job fair.  We didn't get offers in ANY of our top choice countries, let alone schools, however, we did get offers, one of which we took!

It's not cheap, but it's fairly simple.  If you want to get into the international teaching market you need to get experience somewhere.  We landed in the caribbean on a beautiful island and are gaining experience that we can add to our resumes.  All the while we get to work on our tans, meet new people and explore a beautiful region.

The International Job Hunting Scene

I'm interested in hearing about how people land jobs at good international schools.  I can't just go volunteer because of financial responsibilities.  But, I do have teaching experience and I am part of a teaching couple.  I would like to teach in Asia.....
